Kalpana Balmandir & Shishugruh

The Kalpana Balmandir, inaugurated on the 14^th of December, 1962 by the then president of India, Dr. Survpali Radhakrishnon, was the first kind in India then. Equipped according to the basic educational and learning needs of children with disabilities, students in this department are provided with the initial education, focusing on basic communication. Under this, there are different sections for students with hearing and speech impairment and for students with visual impairment.  Use of computers is an integral part of teaching in this department and students are taught using audio-visuals, thus focusing on object recognition and sound recognition.
