School for the Blind
The School for the Blind started on the 14th of February, 1945, with only two students. Today, this department caters to the needs of more than 100 students, ranging from standard 1 to standard 12.
Std. 1 to 8 >>Primary School
Std. 9 and 10 >> Secondary School (Blind + Deaf)
Std. 11 and 12 >> Higher Secondary School (Blind + Deaf)
Government approved syllabus is imparted to the students and the students are trained thoroughly in Braille as well as in Taylor’s frame. Gradually, they are also provided with computer skills and are taught to use softwares like JAWS and NVDA for their learning. Apart from education, our students are also provided with a certified course in music which is affiliated with ‘Akhil Bhartiya Gandharva Mahavidhyalaya’, Mumbai. Students are trained in both, instrumental as well as vocals. Instruments like Guitar, Harmonium, Mandolin and Tabla are taught to the students.
